Covered Entity and Business Associate enter into this Agreement to comply with the requirements of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (“HIPAA”),as amended, including the privacy, security, breach notification and enforcement rules at 45 C.F.R. Parts 160,162 and 164,as well as the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act, enacted as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (“HITECH”),as amended, and other applicable federal and state laws (collectively, the “HIPAA Rules”).
